I think Earl should never be allowed to discuss other people's weight because it's just not fair - the punk is as skinny as a high-jumper's pole, the little *beep*

Anyway. To more important matters.

o.O

Chapter 81 spoilers (this is like, volume 16 or 17?) of Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou [His and Her Circumstances]. It was just published in the magazine this last week, I guess :P so don't try to comment or anything unless you don't want to see the spoiler. (I know you'll be tempted, Sarah :P you don't have to resist - this isn't coming to the U.S. for another year.)

I'm just laazing around.

Augusto, I'll link you as soon as I make a new layout :P I'm just really bad about remembering to link people and all. :O Forgive me for forgetting and I'll link you up, kay? XD

Man. I wake up, I eat, I read, I go on the net, and I sleep. If I don't start some exercising soon, I won't even be able to joke about my weight anymore. *shudders*

It's really hot. I'd like to swim some laps for a few hours, but where? Jeezus.

No real spoilers - just my feelings on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and no real details - but don't read if you don't want to know that either, then.

One non review-y thing: while I was waiting in line at Barnes and Nobles (with a lot of other people), three woman stood at the corner of the store in a circle, holding hands, heads down, and eyes closed.

What were they doing?

Chanting (very loudly and furiously) about all of our damned souls and the vengeance that would surely be taken out on us by the superior forces of god. At first, I actually thought THEY were practicing witchcraft or something.

Stacy informed me that she believed they were praying.

I guess it was rude, but I went over, watched, and laughed my head off, then came back to report to everyone who couldn't quite hear what the women were saying. I thought it was really funny (I've never seen fundamentalists going at it), but Sohyun said it was very sad. ^.^; Some officers made them leave.

Anyway, on to the review, if you want to read. [the rest]

::cackles madly::

I ain't gonna be back until I got the HP book, darlings. See ya then :P

But, more importantly :) I'd like to wish my oldest sister, Sohyun, a great big huge happy birthday, because today is her birthday and she had the odd luck (good or bad?) to be born on the same day as HP #5. ^_^ [Note: Sohyun is actually born June 21st, but I won't be here to blog that day because I'll be reading... besides, I'm going to a June 21st party right now anyway.]

She once pointed out to me that since Harry is born in 1980, she is actually his age, making her special. He's born on July 30, 1980, so she's a month older.

With that facinating tidbit of news :P I go off to party with my lab table. Happy Birthday, Sohyun! (I'd better tell her in person, though, because Sohyun doesn't read my blog.)

School...

IS OUT! I am FREE! For god's sake, I am DONE for this sophomore year from HELL.

And Harry Potter #5 is out TOMORROW, and I have metallic blue nails the color of the cover in order to prepare for it.

My grades?

I got away with a B in Pre-Calculus. I am so happy, because the final was so hard I was afraid I failed it, but I DIDN'T and now I have a B!

Last semester I got a B in Pre-calc and Honors chem... but not this year.

;_; BECAUSE I GOT AN A IN HONORS CHEMISTRY!!

::weeps:: I hated chemistry and I never got a thing, but Dr. Thomson curved our final a LOT and it says I got 152/150 and I could just cry, it's that fantastic. My period did really good on the final (I saw the bar graph he made), we got a lot of B's and A's and a bunch of A+'s. (Well, with the curve.) I was looking at some of the other periods and one of them had no A's, very few B's, some C's, and a lot of D's. ^_^ Anyway, I'm exactly at 90%, one bit lower and I would've gotten a B, but I would've been THRILLED with a B because a B isn't a C.

Oh, man. I aced my history final, so I don't know my grade yet but I'm pretty damn sure it's an A, and I felt really good about my C++ final, too :) It was my last final.

I am DONE. I can't be happier. And tomorrow ~ I want Taleen and Tanya and Stacy and me (you guys read the previous entry for more info) to go to the new AMC 16 and sit in the new theater and go find Nemo :) This is fantastic, I'm so happy. It's OVER!

Well, at least until September 1st. But I don't burn out until second semester anyway ^.~

Last thing: JK Rowling, author of Harry Potter (what, you thought I forgot?) is only doing like, two reviews this time around, with Jeremy Paxman and Katie Couric. Katie Couric isn't airing until the 21st, but here's the transcript of JK and Paxman..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/3004594.stm

It's a really cool interview, doesn't really mention anything spoilerish, just talks about what Rowling thinks about certain things that've happened to her recently and things like that. It's neat :P

Well, there are only two days left, and might I say that it's getting increasingly hard to avoid Harry Potter #5 spoilers? I mean, yesterday this one website got a copy (there are bunches of stores that accidentally put them on shelves early) and they posted ALL THE CHAPTER TITLES. I swear, I'm going to kill someone.

Anyway, finals today rocked. I aced my history final (I can feel it in my blood) and my chem final went decently, so I think I'll have a solid B in the class for that and an A in history. :) Later, I went to the mall with Allison and Stacy... Stacy had to get a manicure (her hand is posing in a photo shoot later), and she and Allison said I should get one, too.

She got clear polish, though :P I have metallic polish, but I won't say what color because I know that Taleen and Tanya read this blog and I want them to see it at school tomorrow first ^.~ if I ever see them, that is, but I'll try to find them. (What the heck do you guys have for your sixth periods?)

Stacy's mom, btw, apparently reserved two copies ages and ages ago, so Stacy has two copies on hold. ^.^ Good for Stacy! Allison ordered hers on Amazon.com to be delivered on the 21st. Yep, it's all good now.

Btw, the rest of this entry is directed to Tanya, Taleen, and Stacy... anyone else can read this but it's not particularly interesting :P so, my darling lab table, read the rest....

Blaaaargh. It's just past 4 a.m. in the morning. I know I said I wouldn't blog.

But OH MY GOD, I AM SO TIRED AND I HATE CHEMISTRY AND I HATE WORLD HISTORY AND I HATE FINALS AND I HATE SCHOOL AND...

Well, you can see my mood right now. Let me just say that I woke up from a dream where I was in my math classroom, where my english teacher (yes, my 10th grade english teacher) distributed copies of Harry Potter #5 to us out of the goodness of her heart and two days ahead of schedule, wrapped in the barnes and noble reserved white paper with the solid black lettering.

I am so tired. Our B&N ordered 1300 copies. They are all reserved.

Stacy and Allison are still coming to the midnight party to see if there will be any extra copies available. ;_; Taleen and Tanya, what are we going to doooooo?!

I'm so tired I can't even think.

We tried Waldenbooks, by the way. Stacy and Ally were put on a waiting list. If those who had a copy reserved there don't pick up their copies within 48 hours, their books go to the next person on the list.

The tiny waldenbooks in the mall is ordering FIVE HUNDRED COPIES. Dear god. And they're actually all reserved. Apparently all the bookstores are like this.

::goes back to memorizing chemistry facts::

That is one of the most hilarious things I've seen about book 5 so far. If you read Harry Potter, click on that link - it has no spoilers or anything, it's just making fun of Harry Potter ^^ ::laughed her head off:: I like the modified cover they made. *warning* it's a really, really large picture, so it takes a long time to load (it's a three meg pic).

Anyway, I haven't blogged for awhile, and this entry won't be long, either - hell-o, it's finals week. Lots of studying to be done. But anyway, I saw Finding Nemo *again* with my oldest sister this time, and I guess I'm seeing it again friday with the twins and Stacy ^^; wow. Good thing it's a good movie, or I'd get really bored.

I have my math & english finals on tuesday, my history & computer science finals on wednesday, and my spanish and chemistry finals on thursday. I think.. it's 3-4 5-6 1-2, right? I wish math was on a later day, but oh well - I only have to get like, a D on the final to keep my B in the class. I don't ... quite.. know.. what my English teacher is planning for our final o.O I mean, we started reading Julius Caesar on Wednesday.. ^__^; are we going to finish it before our final or something? Blech.

My Spanish final is a powerpoint presentation, which is gonna be soo easy just as long as I finish it... and my history final is pretty simple memorization (I'd have to get a C or something anyway to drop my grade to a B). Only ones I'm worried about are Pre-Calculus (joy) and Honors Chemistry... thank god Dr. Thompson gave us that enormous review packet. As for math... well, I am getting a really big cheat card, so that's.. good? ^_^;

At any rate, I probably won't blog until saturday afternoon, when I'll be done with Harry Potter #5... there is no such thing as "taking time" in my family, because my sister has dibs right after me :P so I have to read it as fast as I can, but it's still gonna take me from at least 1 a.m. to 8 or 9 in the morning. And that's saying I read as fast as I can :O that's like, what - over a hundred pages per hour? Oh, well :P Sohyun doesn't get it until I'm done, at any rate.

And right now I should probably go study a bit. *sigh* Well, I'll surface again saturday, people. Oh, and everyone - good luck on your finals! (Spare a bit for me, too XD)

I think everyone is insane.

Especially Harry Potter fans. [And, well, this entry is all about Harry Potter, so don't read unless you want to hear about it :P]

Well, let's all hear it for the Harry Potter fans :P

Today, I stopped by B&N after school today to pick up a book that I wanted... unfortunately, it wasn't there (501 Spanish verbs, anyone?) so I reserved a different one (I took it as fate that the Spanish book wasn't there... I'll get it next year for Spanish III), then bought one. Anyway, while I was determining the fate of those verbs at the customer service desk, I picked up a flyer that said, "Daily Prophet" in one of those old-fashioned curly-q newspaper fonts.

It seems that my local B&N is turning into miniature Harry Potter land. No, I'm so not kidding. At six p.m., my bookstore opens up Platform nine and three quarters (don't ask me how this is going to happen), whereupon everyone will recieve a ticket to hold their place in line later (everyone will line up in ticket order at ten), plus a copy of the Evening Prophet with "all the details of the night's festivities". There's some descriptions here, too... they're having their own "Diagon Alley" (I'm guessing they're just turning the whole bookstore into this thing), but the only thing I'm sure about is that the B&N cafe will be the Leaky Cauldron Cafe. But where on earth are they going to put Honeydukes in Barnes and Noble?

It says underneath the Hogwarts section (this is kinda funny :P) that Hagrid has secured the Forbidden Forest for quiet coloring and activities... I'm guessing this is the children's area. ::snickers:: QUIET? I was there in July for book #4 three years ago, and at nine o' clock, the place was roaring with noise. Ten times louder than it usually was, especially when the drawing started.. and since they're having a lot of activities (including a trivia contest :P), it's going to be even louder this time around.

Actually, I talked to the manager at B&N for a second because I had a question about the tickets (it's in order of coming, not order of reservation... I wasn't sure from the paper), and I asked him how many copies the store had ordered. Now, when my sister reserved the book for me a few months ago, she was told that the store had ordered 500, which is a lot, especially since GoF only garnered about 200-300 three years ago.

And the manager tells me, "At least a thousand copies at this point..."

Well, holy hell. My mouth just dropped open and I gaped at him for a full five seconds. Is our bookstore large enough to sell a thousand copies?! And then he continued to say that they weren't sure it would be enough, either.

Is everyone in Burbank pre-ordering, or something? ::is getting really nervous:: I do NOT want to be stuck at Barnes and Noble at 1:30 in the morning just because I was at the end of the line, or something. I wanna READ IT. I think I'll just spend all day at the bookstore... not a problem for me :P

On the same note, I don't have homework tonight, unless you count my study guides for history. And I won't, because that's its own thing. But anyway, this is so incredibly frightening...

I can't wait :P I'm bringing this paper to school tomorrow to rev the twins up... I enjoy making them hyper about this, because they jump up and down as much as I do ^_^ Of my friends that read my blog, who's going to be at the Burbank Barnes and Noble June 20th? :) I'd really like to know... it'll be like a party, just with another few hundred people :P I saw a lot of people from school last time, so I'm guessing it'll be the same this time around.

Although I did have this thought that there'd be a freak accident and all of our store's books would get burned up on the way, but I doubt that will happen. Right? Please don't tell me that putting it in typing is a bad omen -.-

How many bookstores are ordering that many, anyway? Jeezus. No wonder Scholastic is printing 8.5 million copies... so many pre-orders. I'm sure that our B&N wouldn't have upgraded its printing if they hadn't had a ton more pre-orders... jeezus.

Funny thing: you get sorted into a house at the bookstore, actually, and there will be contests where you can earn house points. :P Buying the book will also add house points, culminating in the giving of the House Cup to the top house ;P how is that gonna work?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/snapshot.htm?section=L&label=2003-06-09-potter

That picture on the top (won't load if you don't have flash or something) is really scary. I never thought about book 1 vs book 5. ^.^ you know, originally J.K. Rowling said in a bunch of interviews that the longest books in the series were gonna be 4 & 7... well, holy schmack :P I guess everyone just kinda forgot about that. I'm guessing the editors didn't edit a whole lot out (why edit out what could potentially be gold, after all?), which is interesting because two entire chapters were cut out of HP #1. :P Yes, very interesting.

So, don't forget :P tell me if you're going!

[Is bitter because underscoring in Greymatter tends to underline crap]

Well, blogging a little later... the dinner went fine. :P (See below entry for details.) My cousin and her fiance talked about how he proposed and etc, and we decided we'd have a fairly informal but medium-sized (40-50 people) engagement party at our home sometime in August. Fun, fun, fun, I guess.

My cousin showed off her ring to me after we had greeted each other... oh, my god.

*.- <-- blinded

It's a really, really large diamond (it's round, not square-cut) set off by two diamonds (one on each side) in a platinum setting. PLATINUM. [Did I ever mention that I'm a sucker for platinum? Stacy and I discussed this once - while gold is nice, platinum is prettier. :P]

Anyway, the large diamond is just short of ostentatious, and it is really, really bright - I swear to god, it's its own beacon of light. I mean, the two side stones are large enough on their own to be the primary stone of a ring... well, anyway, it's a very nice, very bright ring. Really bright. Just thought I'd comment on that.

Harry Potter, coming soon :P

You know, I swear to god, last year only myself and maybe two other people I knew had blogs. Then, I turn around, and EVERYONE has a blog. I was looking at Andrew's links, and jeezus - even ANDREW has a blog.

And mr pixeldazed seems to be hosting all of them. Andrew, it's really not a good idea to insult your bloghost :P Jessica's blog I just found (you could've mentioned on sugarbitz.blogspot that you had MOVED, you know) and everyone hosted by Augusto seems to use a really teeny little font size. Do you know how hard that is to read? T_T

Anyway, I love Harry Potter, and I'm getting really hyper about it. I'm okay while there's no release date or anything, but it's counting down now... I'm beginning to freak people out. (LESS THAN FOURTEEN DAYS.) And it also so happens that we're out of school in less than two weeks, too :P much celebration.

Oh, I HATE SCHOOL. We're doing all this prepping for finals now. Spanish final is going to be GREAT - we're doing a powerpoint presentation. I present 3-4 slides in Spanish on the Cuban government and economy :P that's it. I'll talk for like, two minutes, and then I'm done. My spanish final last semester screwed my final grade, so I'm really happy that we're just avoiding the whole situation this time around. As for history, I didn't do so hot on the last exam, so I'm being very careful to do very good on the essay we have wednesday (bo-ring) and on our final... he handed our class three packets of questions and told us to finish them. T_T

Anyway, today I'm going out to dinner with my parents, my cousin, and her fiance. We're going to plan an engagement party for my cousin... the wedding will be in Chicago where his family lives, apparently, and so not all of my cousin's side will be flying to the wedding. So, we're having some party this summer where his parents get to meet our aunts and uncles and other cousins... ^_^ Should be interesting. But how much planning is this going to be? I'm getting the feeling that this will be a formal engagement party, and how on earth are we going to plan something like that? o.O Oh, well - my parents are doing it, not me. Ha!

I'm downloading from my sister's computer right now, and it informed me that I have over 100 hours left before I'm done. Sometimes, I really hate 56k.

I've been reading Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP lately, and might I say, this is WEIRD. Originally, I heard that this was a sequel to Card Captor Sakura, and I was very excited. Then I heard that it was an alternate universe, just with the same characters.

I've decided that it's not a sequel to CCS, but rather, CLAMP doing a crossover with all of their major series. :P I'm not even kidding... it's funny, since I've read most of the series that they're crossing, but it's also really weird. Mokona from Magic Knight Rayearth is here (as some sort of dimensional god?), as is Chi from Chobits (except she doesn't seem to be a persocon, but rather organic), and Ashura from RG Veda, and apparently even Arashi and Sorata from X... the list goes on. And on. And on. Lorik, I think you'd want to read this :P I have the first two chapters... so incredibly weird. (And would make even less sense to someone who didn't read CLAMP stuff, so not good for all.)

I'm dead tired. The other day, I got home from school, fell asleep at around 4ish, then woke up again around 6ish. And I felt like I hadn't slept at all :x so tired these days... I don't know how I'll stay awake through the dinner tonight. (We're eating at a Chinese resturant in Glendale.)

I have a pounding headache. I already took two extra-strength tylenol... why am I always plagued by this sorta thing T_T when I was at the hospital last friday, they took my white blood cell count, and it was unusually high... the nurse said it was 7. (I'm guessing it was 7 thousand or million or something, not actually.. 7... blood cells.) Normal is apparently 5, and people always get more when they're sick... but my mother said that normally, blood tests reveal me to have THREE. ;_; Why do I have such a crappy immune system?!?

I blame you. And you. And you. TT

Okay, not really, but it makes me feel better. ::skulks off to read more Nora Roberts::

Oh. I purchased some more Nora Roberts books.. it's a pity I don't keep them in better condition, because then if I ever auctioned them off, I could make a killing. (I have over 300$ worth of her books.) ^_^
