"Tragically.. as she was sipping coffee last night at Starbucks, Janice was machine gunned down..."

Yeah, yeah, I know you all wish :P that was Mr. Thomson describing how I was murdered during the game of Mafia that we were playing. AHAHAHA ^^ it was Molly that killed me that time, that bad bad girl. Anyway, I think Mr. Thomson will be a lot of fun to have as a history teacher.. somehow I think certain friends of mine will agree, if just because of the above statement from him there :P

Yesterday, all of Key Club executive board at BHS (of which I am a member of) was told to come to the fundraiser Awake-a-Thon ^^ it was fun, lol. We were basically supposed to stay awake from 7 pm to 7 am, and raise money for our KC. It's not hard to stay up, but we were getting REALLY tired because we were playing a lot of games that took a lot of energy.

Anyway :) we played a name game to start off with (I think I have everyone's name memorized now), and then we moved on to some other various contests. We were split up into groups (named after McDonalds - I was part of the Big n' Tasty group), and we competed all night long, except when we were all working together. Ha, one of the contests was an "Iron Chef" contest - I kid you not. We each randomly picked a recipe and tried to cook the best food (the chief taster being Mr. Thomson).

My group, very unfairly :P got SPAGHETTI, and might I add that there was no sauce? we had to make it out of tomato paste and canned tomatos. *ewwww* actually, it came out pretty good despite all things, but Mr. Thomson said we overdid it on some of the herbs.. oregano or something. It was very strong sauce :P but it was good! everyone else said it was good, and they would've told me if it sucked...

... As Katie's group's brownies did :P how do you mess up brownies? Mr. Thomson gave them a two out of five for taste. Said something about "too much flour".

None of us were willing to try it, so we'll just take his word for it.

Anyway, we had to cook all of this in an hour. -.- It was a very stressful hour, especially as Lucy (whose house we were at) has a stove that has its oven right underneath it, so the brownie people and the pizza people (Tanya) and the TACO people (Kristyn's group had to bake the hard shells) were ALL using the oven and there we were, trying to simmer sauce and boil spaghetti all at the same time.

I think the winning group got too easy :P they got mud pie. Unjust!! You just slap together a lot of confectionary. It was really good though :O and so was the pizza, although that was gone really fast.

The guys in my group (Eric & Jason) didn't help much during the cooking (Ashley C. and I did all the work). Eric wouldn't taste anything, and Jason stood there, soup ladle in hand, and he stirred the spaghetti... mm, yeah :P that's what he did. (We had very little equipment, hence the soup ladle.) Oh, well - Jason is a very good ham (he's the ASB senior class president? we saw his face on millions of backpacks?) and he presented the spaghetti to Mr. Thomson, complete with Jason presenting him a bottle of wine and some grapes XD he talked like some snooty waiter. It was very amusing ^^

Oh, and I chopped two cloves of garlic for the spaghetti, and my HANDS STINK. Not that I mind eating garlic, but I certainly mind having the stench of it stuck in my hands.. I've washed them with four different soaps twelve different times since then, and still, nothing works -.-

I was fine $1.25 for saying the word "sleep" five different times during the night -.- very bad!! I paid .75 cents right there, but I didn't want to break my twenty so I didn't do the rest. But I was very annoyed -.- oh, well, Jason got fined nearly five dollars for saying it over, and over, and over, and over again :P so I got off lucky. (Oh, and Jason nearly fell asleep.. $1 fine right there.)

I'm TIRED. BLAH. Been up for awhile now, and awake-a-thon is really exhausting (especially the cooking thing). I was really awake doing those scenes, but afterwards everyone just wanted to sleep. During pictionary later, everyone was lying down. A very WARPED version of pictionary.. I was supposed to describe whatever topic I had to my partner, who would draw what I described not knowing what it actually was herself. Um, the first time I got it I did a dog, which was easy enough for everyone to figure out (you wanted people to figure out what it was or you wouldn't get any points), but the second time, we got a TOILET. How the hell was I supposed to describe a toilet? I started off with "uh, a rectangle here", and blah blah blah. We ended up throwing the first one away and then starting over before someone finally figured it out. :x I didn't guess any right except the last picture (someone else's), when Katie told her partner to "draw a right triangle". :P

Sailboat! It's obvious.. more obvious than when Andrew (not the one we all are so very .. uh, "fond" of) told Shelly to draw "two circles" and Yung yelled, "GLASSES!" -.-

God, I'm too exhausted to really blog much right now :x I just wanted to get this all done so I wouldn't forget it later. Anyway, Andrew and Augusto have really weird conversations on my blog :P

Spoken words: 15 have fallen.

You're damn right you're all fond of me, damn it.

...Bastards.

ANYWAY my first comment always sucks so I'll wait for someone else to comment and then comment on their comment. That will be my second comment.

...

Shut up.

Get some sleep Janice...(-_-)zzz

Posted by lorik @ 07/29/2003 09:31 PM PST

how fun. I could've helped you cook spaghetti. filipino-style too with hot dogs and everything. and its sweeter too! so like yeah...It's not really italian anymore... ahahahah.

Posted by augusto @ 07/29/2003 09:43 PM PST

filipino-style italian pasta? uhmm... oh well, my dad makes pasta and he adds some distinctly asian stuff (like soy sauce XD)

you filipino people and your large families, too :P kristyn was the #1 fundraiser at the awake-a-thon because she was sponsored $70 just by asking her family members and it took her like five minutes. what is it with you people? :P

too tired to capitalize blah blah blah

Posted by Janice @ 07/30/2003 11:58 AM PST

Yup, us Filipinos and our ginormous families.

Posted by Earl @ 07/30/2003 08:39 PM PST

i don't really have a big family i think. i'm actually quite different than most other Filipino's. I only talk mostly to my 1st and 2nd cousins instead of like the whole whole family. Majority of them are from my mom's side. It's like "wow, i have cousins on my dad's side?? amazing!" yeah. power to those who love to be different ^_^.

>>sigh<< and i HATE getting like 60+ hits a day WITHOUT A SINGLE COMMENT ON MY BLOG. its annoying -_-'' and i'm not showing off the 60+ hits. It just amazes me that no one comments, yet THAT many people visit. WHY?!

Posted by augusto @ 07/31/2003 02:05 AM PST

what the heck is the point of a counter on one's blog? how tragic, I'd get like two hits per day, on good days.
