Anime Detatoko Princess Episode 1 Volume One: Force Your Adored Daughter to Go On a Journey Opening Ending Version watched Subtitled by: ? Summary by Kylara (E-mail) A teenage girl is building up magical power, half-buried in the shadows. A brilliant white light shines from the city, and a worried young man and a little girl call out, "Hime-sama!" [Princess!] The princess has long blonde hair, and moves deftly through her built-up power. Her outfit is a casual one, but as her powers surround her in a circle, her outfit changes to pink tights, pink heels, and an fairy-like, green dress with a skirt split like petals. { Screen Shot } Twirling around, she yells, "Magic Eraser!" A blast of light shoots from her to a floating island in the sky, and a bird flies out from the tree. The island smashes into the ground. She catches the bird, and smiles at it, saying that was close.
In a library (the screen is gray), the princess is sitting at a table. She smiles up, introducing herself as Lapis, Princess of Sorcererland. An elderly man is walking around, straightening up books. She says that although she looks like normal princesses, she can actually use the power of the Magic Eraser; isn't that wonderful?

Title Screen: Volume One: Force Your Adored Daughter to Go On a Journey
A cup of pudding shakes as the table it's on is pounded by an elderly man, who is scolding the princess. He says that the latest disaster she caused...does she know how horrible it is? The pudding falls out of the cup, and doing a neat jump, Lapis catches it in her mouth. { Screen Shot } A tiny little girl on the table wearing a bikini (she must be three inches tall) and a tree growing out of her hair (same girl who called out 'Princess' earlier) says that the princess is really cool. The guy from earlier gazes on as well, with a smile on his face. The king and queen are also watching. The queen is slightly embarassed. The old man keeps scolding, saying that she HAD to use the Magic Eraser to eliminate the levitation magic of the floating garden? { Screen Shot } As he pounds on the table again, all the pudding on it flies into the air and she catches it in her mouth. Lapis says that he didn't need to really worry; after all, she aimed carefully before she dropped it. She eats another pudding. A sign pop up next to it, reading "37th pudding of the day."
The old man continues to freak out, saying that she used the royal power for SUCH a reason - as the princess' educational mentor for the past fifteen years, he's lamentable. Lapis says that the bird was going to fall out of its nest, though! Her father comments that Lapis has no sense of being an adult, despite having finished her adulthood ceremony. { Screen Shot } Her mother laughs, saying she has an idea. { Screen Shot } Her husband looks suspicious as she walks over to a mirror and asks its spirit for a bit of help. Lapis is ignoring her as Jiiya, the old man, feeds her pudding as he scolds her. Lapis says that Jiiya doesn't care if the chick died? Wow, she never knew he was so cold-hearted before! Jiiya replies that she knows perfectly well that's not what he meant. Suddenly, her mother appears behind her chair, and presents her with a very large, gold spoon, with a jewel at the top. She says it's a magical stick that's been passed down through the family. { Screen Shot } With a very large fan, she fans Lapis into the mirror while smiling cheerfully and saying, "Do yoooour beest!" She says that she just sent Lapis to Silver Lake, which is a three day journey from here. "As the saying goes, force your adored daughter on a journey." All Lapis has to do is walk back, and she'll return with a cool head. The king stands up, and says, "Sapphire! Silver Lake is a NICKNAME, not the real name!" Her mother almost looks worried, and says, "Oh dear, I guess she must've been transported to a body of water that is named Silver lake!" Jiiya, the little three-inch girl, and the bodyguard, freak out as they pound the mirror. Her mother, still smiling, says that she has another idea!
Far away in a dark, gloomy, castle, a woman wearing a very skimpy outfit with magic symbols is watching Lapis's family through a crystal ball. She says that this is finally her chance; Lapis is away from the king and queen, two amazing magic bearers whose powers exceed even hers. This is her chance! { Screen Shot } As she begins to do the 'evil female-anime character laugh,' she starts to choke. A little being wearing a cloak (you can only see the white eyes, but it looks almost like a fish) pops up, and says that Topaz-sama hasn't given up yet? Another one with yellow eyes pops up, and says she'd better give up. { Screen Shot } Topaz asks why, and they reply that doesn't she remember all the misfortune she's suffered since she started pursuing Lapis? (The images vary from a huge boulder heading toward Topaz with a gleeful Lapis directing it, Topaz about to be hit by a baseball pitched by Lapis, and the boulder on Topaz.) Topaz yells at them, telling them that she's the Great Witch of the West, beautiful-girl collecter, Topaz-sama! Such misfortunes are below her attention. Topaz stands up, and you can see that the room she's in has dozens of huge pictures of Lapis around. Looking up, she says, "Very soon, Lapis... I'll have you all for myself..." and starts laughing again.
At Silver Lake, Lapis is complaining to herself as she floats around on a log, saying that she has no idea where she is - what was Okaa-sama thinking? At that exact moment, Jiiya, the little girl, and the young man come flying out of the sky and land on her.
Lapis sneezes as she sits near a fire, wrapped up in a blanket. With an exasperated look (and the little fairy thing sitting on her shoulder), she says that she was beginning to think that was what happened - besides that, where are they? { Screen Shot } The younger guy says that they're definitely at Silver Lake, but... er... Jiiya comes in then, holding a map, saying that they're at Silver Lake west of Rigu-Rigu Forest, north of Prairie land. Putting the map down, he points out that place, and then Sorcerer Land and the Diamond Palace, far away. The little fairy girl runs all over the map. The young man comments that now it'll take more than thirty days to get back, rather than three. Lapis scolds him, telling him that they don't exactly have a choice, so he should be a bit more optimistic. Laughing, he stands up and points into the distance, saying that they should return to Diamond Palace! Jiiya says, "Kohaku, Diamond Palace is thatway," and points in the opposite direction. A sign pops up next to Kohaku, reading, "No sense of direction." Lapis says exasperatedly that he should really do something about his lack of direction. The fairy girl, sitting on her head, glares at him as she agrees.
A sign reads, "Rigu-Rigu Forest, a half day later...... they're still in the forest..." Lapis drops onto the ground, groaning, "How much longer do I have to walk before the road appears?" She drops to the ground, muttering that she wants pudding. Jiiya says that according to the map, they're almost there. Kohaku says that they'd better get out of the forest before dark. Lapis agrees eagerly, saying that his forest practically promises bad things when it gets dark. An eye suddenly opens with a glare. Jiiya freaks a bit, while Lapis says that they'd better hurry, she has a bad feeling - you know, premonitions like this... Kohaku finishes for her, saying that they usually come true, don't they? Just then, a BIG furry thing jumps out of the bushes, and they all run for it. { Screen Shot } Lapis shrieks, "What ARE those things?" Kohaku replies that they're ogres; he hears that they crave human meat. Lapis wonders where in heck her mother sent her to. They all keep running.
Topaz is watching from a cliff not very far away. She comments that the ogres she summoned are doing a good job... now, at the last moment, she can now save Lapis!! She imagines a sequence with an SD Lapis cowering in fear, about to be eaten by an ogre... when the majestic Topaz appears, defeats the evil ogre, and comforts a weeping Lapis, who calls her "Onee-sama" (great older sister). [We see several close ups of Topaz's chest.] In the real world, her little servants have fallen asleep. She hugs them, screaming that it's so perfect! (They're screaming too.)
Our friends have run into a dead end. As they are surrounded by ogres, Lapis says, "I have no choice... KOHAKU, go get them!" and hurls him at the ogres. He lands in front of the ogres, and nervously comments on the weather. { Screen Shot } They glare at him, and Kohaku shyly pokes at the ground, saying that they shouldn't look at him so longingly. They pounce on him, and Lapis grabs Jiiya and runs off. (The fairy has been on her head the entire time.) As they run, the fairy comments that just now was very mean of Lapis. Lapis says it's ok, he's cursed with invulnerability; even if he gets sliced to little pieces, he'll regenerate eventually. (A little sign blinks on and off, reading, "Faithless and heartless, isn't she.) As they run, she smacks into something and falls down. She looks up to see an even bigger ogre. It growls at her, and she says that just because of its big face, it thinks it can push her around? It growls louder, and she shrieks and backs away a few feet. Nervously, she pulls out the "Magical Stick" and waves it around in a glowing circle. "One pudding on a ring... Two puddings on a ring... three puddings on a ring... four puddings on a ring... pudding... er, how do you use this thing?" { Screen Shot } As she says it, a pudding appears on another place in the ring. The circle vanishes, and she wonders how to use it. She walks up to the ogre and bonks it lightly in the face. It growls, and screaming, Lapis, Jiiya, and the fairy girl run for it. She shrieks that it's aaaangry, while Jiiya says of course it is!
As they reach the edge of a cliff, Jiiya steps in front of Lapis and says that he'll take care of the monster. Lapis and the fairy girl look happy. As the ogre growls, Jiiya says, "It can come anytime, but when it does... it will have to face the great wrath of his worst drill!" He pulls out... a math book. The fairy girl wonders what Jiiya is doing with a math drill, while Lapis says that he's hopeless, having lost the last of his nerve due to the sudden fears. The monster is about to pounce when...
A baseball player smashes a boulder in half with his baseball bat, landing in front of Lapis. Yelling, "Upper swing!", he smashes the ogre far away. [This is obviously her dad in a baseball uniform.] In the forest, Topaz is still thinking about her fantasy when the ogre smashes into her. The baseball player runs off to where Kohaku is getting beaten up, and yells, "Down swing! Right swing! Left swing! BUNT!" Each time, he smacks a few ogres out. Lapis is thrilled. A very beaten up Kohaku looks up, and is helped up by the baseball player. Looking up through a few bruises, he says, "Your majesty?" Lapis runs up, steps on Kohaku, and says thank you - if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have made it! Can she know his name? (Kohaku looks like he's in severe pain.) { Screen Shot }
Her father replies that his name is not important; let's just say that he's a person passing by, number four, third baseman, replacement batter Morita. (He thinks to himself that he's taking his counterpart seriously... supposedly.) Lapis' eyes shine. He continues that she should travel that way, to the town of Hylard, since the current route they're on is dangerous. She is about to thank him when he walks away off into the sunset. Kohaku says, "Your majesty..." Jiiya says that it seems like he ended up following them out of worry. The fairy girl agrees, while Kohaku says that he wouldn't be surprised to see her Majesty around here... (We see the queen, wearing a super-hero outfit and a bad mask, who falls over a bit. A sign next to her reads, "Failed to make her entrance.") { Screen Shot } He adds that does the king really think he's hiding his identity? Who the HECK is Morita? Lapis turns slightly red, and says that he was really handsome... she doesn't know why, but he kind of reminds her of her father... As she gazes off at him, the others sweatdrop, while a sign pops up pointing to her, reading, "Entering her puberty." [Note: I believe it says elsewhere that Lapis is seventeen...] Underneath a boulder somewhere, Topaz and her followers crawl out. Topaz mutters that she was so close... who was that Morita, anyway? (A sign above her head points to her reading, "At the same intelligence level as Lapis." Topaz says she can't waste anymore time! She's got to catch up to them! As she gets up, she crashes into the sign.
[ Eyecatch: A crayon colored Lapis in a pose about to eat pudding. { Screen Shot }
Return Eyecatch: a lot of pudding dishes stacked up. ]In a town somewhere, an old man is thrown to the ground. A woman says, "Darling!" and runs to him. { Screen Shot } A huge robot is carrying a woman in a curtain-covered caravan sort of thing. She says, "How dare you go against my law... I, Elena of Hylard, must have been too easy on my people to be treated with such little respect." He replies that he would never think of such a thing. She says that he mustn't excuse himself for breaking the law. He says that all he did was break a window in the barn - she yells for silence, and says that their punishment is to have double taxes. The woman asks her to wait; they already have triple taxes for eating a mushroom omelet. Elena says that was well-deserved; mushrooms are so bad, so it was a light punishment. Anyway, they should pay the taxes on time, or they'll be executed. She laughs, and says that this whole town belongs to her... An image of her holding it to herself appears.
A sign appears reading "Lapis' current whereabouts," pointing to somewhere near the town. Lapis says that it's such a gloomy little town - what are those, anyway? She points to the robots. { Screen Shot } Kohaku says that they're probably guards, and that they seem to be powered by magic. She replies that she feels like she's being watched, and she really doesn't like it. Buuut, in the meantime, they should find a hotel and get plenty of food and pudding!
Everyone in the hotel resturant stares in shock as Lapis and Kohaku devour food. Jiiya says that she should eat with a bit more class, as the heir to Sorcererland... (Lapis looks quite scary.) She says that she doesn't care, and besides, no one would recognize her here. ALSO, this is her first decent meal in three days! As a waitress walks by, she yells, "Can I have thirty servings of dessert puddings!" The waitress drops her tray, and the entire place is muttering about desserts and puddings. The waitress nervously replies that she's sorry, but they don't have any desserts here. When asked why by Lapis, she says that their landlord, Elena-sama, banned them because anything that's fattening is an enemy to girls. Lapis is angry, and says that all she had to do would be to stop eating them herself. Lapis says she's so cruel; she shouldn't ban other people from eating them. Kohaku cheerfully replies that she reminds him of someone he knows - and gets smacked in the head by her magic stick.
The old man from earlier shows them into their room, which has a pathetic mattress, and threadbare curtains. She says he expects her to pay five hundred gold for this? He says that the taxes have been so high lately, they just have to... oh, and would they please not break anything? He goes out. Nandra, the fairy girl's name [FINALLY, her name appears..] sits on the mattress, and Lapis tells her that they'll go take a bath now! Nandra is very happy.
In the bathtub, Lapis has wrapped a sponge around her magic stick and is scrubbing herself with it. Nandra is sitting on her head, covered with foam. Lapis comments that it's nice here; she felt so choked up in the castle. She does feel guilty about mother and father worrying about her, but she likes this vacation. The bathtub is mainly two walls, a curtain making the third, and the outside rim. As she scrubs herself, she notices the curtain. On the other side of the curtain, Topaz is taking a bath, moaning that she let Lapis get away again; where is she? She holds up a Lapis made up of soap and nuzzles it. { Screen Shot } Noticing the curtain, she opens it at the exact moment Lapis opens it. With their face two inches from each other, they both let loose an amazing scream. { Screen Shot } Jiiya and Kohaku come in, yelling, "Princess!" only to see a naked Lapis (just enough soap to cover the essentials) looking at them. A look of horror comes over their faces as Lapis screams, runs over, and proceeds to beat them up for coming in. As she lets loose one last kick, she twirls into her clothing, yelling at them for not knocking before coming in. [Note: she showed them EVERYTHING while doing this; I think she should've just stayed in the tub...] They say that they came to save her, as they fall unconscious.
The wall bursts open, and Topaz and her two companions come in. She says that since Lapis just defeated her own allies for her, she's reassured of her usual lack of common sense. Topaz says that as her "Onee-san," she loves her barbaric side. Lapis asks who she's calling BARBARIC, and what is she doing here anyway? Topaz says that she's put herself of trailing her to make her hers, of course. Here, she doesn't have to deal with any unwanted interferences, like at Diamond palace. Lapis laughs, and says that doesn't she remember that Topaz's magic doesn't work against her? Topaz laughs back at her, and says that she has more than that. Swirling her cloak around, three balls with writing on them are on a belt around her waist. [Note: Pokeballs! (Har de har har...)] Topaz releases the green one, yelling, "Topaz special bodyguard - Fighter Annie!" The ball bounces around the room a bit, then explodes into pink smoke. When it vanishes, a girl in SD form is cuddling up to Topaz, saying, "I missed you, onee-stama! [sama]" Stroking Annie's hair, Topaz asks Annie to go and capture Lapis for her; if she does, she'll (whisper whisper) for her... Annie smiles, and says of course she will. { Screen Shot } Glowing with a pink fighting aura, Annie holds up a sword, saying that Lapis should surrender, or she'll be majorly hurt. Lapis wonders who she is, and Topaz says that Annie is her faithful swordsman bodyguard, and since she uses a sword, Lapis' magic eraser won't damage her. Lapis pulls out her magic stick, and Annie says she's going to challenge her? The landlords run in, telling them to stop damaging the inn anymore. Annie and Lapis start fighting instead, wrecking the entire inn, to the horror of the landlord...
Through the fight, Annie got slightly scratched on the hand. A drop of blood comes out, and Annie FREAKS out, shrieking, "Blood?" over and over again. Topaz flinches, and tells Lapis to run for it. With an odd gleam in her eyes, Annie yells out her sword attack name, "Super Sword Technique, Light-Wave Slash!" A huge wave of red light swirls out from the sword, with Lapis barely blocking it as it crashes into the building.
Up above in a hot-air balloon, Elena is counting her money, talking about how happy she is with all of it, and how beautiful it is. A huge boom rocks the balloon, and she wonders what it is. { Screen Shot }
In the town, Lapis is running away from Annie, who has gone cuckoo and is trying to blow her up. Topaz (who's hanging on a pole with everyone else) commands her to stop, but she ignores her. Jiiya asks what's wrong with her, and one of Topaz's underlings says that Annie goes cuckoo when she sees blood. Kohaku comments that Annie is sort of weak for a swordsman. Topaz yells at them to do something; at this rate, Lapis will be minced meat!
As Lapis runs, she's surrounded by the robot guards, who are carrying Elena. Elena is pissed off, and says that they can't be allowed to damage her town like this, punishable by ten times more taxes! Lapis smiles and runs off, saying she'll leave it to her. Annie, going through, completely blows up the caravan.
As Lapis turns down an alleyway, she reaches a dead-end. Annie corners her, and points her sword at her. Lapis says if it has to come down to this, she'll do it. Holding the stick out, she absorbs Annie's attack and hurls it back. It zaps out, hits the pole with everyone else on it, then keeps going and blasts the island out of the sky. Elena watches, horrified, as her island blows up. As it falls apart, it rains gold over the entire town. Elena cries as her gold vanishes. Lapis, looking up at the island, wonders about it, and says that they have to do it. Nandra and Lapis do a typical mahou shoujo sequence, twirling around with the magic stick and say, "Great Power! Holy Power! Obey our demand by the contract and lend us your power!" As she twirls, she changes into the same outfit we saw at the beginning. Lapis yells, "Magic eraser!" and the blast from the stick goes through the sword and shoots to the island, blowing its remains away.
The entire town is destroyed, and Lapis stands up happily. "No matter what the challenge, I'm always the victor!"
Topaz's underlings are looking for her in the rubble, but can't find her. They say that even their wonderful Topaz-sama couldn't have survived that... They put up a tombstone that reads, "RIP - The evil witch of the west (single)." They make a few prayers ("Please don't come back to haunt us..."), then Topaz pops up, screaming, "I'm NOT DEAD!" { Screen Shot } She starts yelling that Lapis just ought to wait; she'll be hers yet! Annie tackles her, yelling, "Onee-sama!" and then Elena lands on her, weeping, "My town, my island, my castle, my money....!" { Screen Shot }
Walking away from the town while eating pudding, Lapis says that it was a horrible little town. The worst thing about it was that it didn't have any pudding! She's glad Jiiya had some portable pudding with him. Kohaku says that now that they're away from the castle and all, shouldn't she cut back on it some? Otherwise, she'll put on the weight... Lapis kicks him in the face. She yells that they'll go onward to Diamond Palace! The screen captures the image as she jumps off with Kohaku and Jiiya in the background, with a sunset. A sign reads, "Diamond Palace That --> way." It falls over, since Lapis is going in the other direction... { Screen Shot }
